My dog is a Rat Terrier. He takes so much allergy medicine. He gets these places on his fur where it will raise up and then the scab comes off with the hait leaving a bald spot. It will grow back. The Vet prescribed predisone last year and it did help some. He takes allergy pills too. Seems like the grass does him in. Any help ? Thanks !!

Two words. Water gun. Seriously, this is probably the most harmless way of making your kitty behave. Just make sure that you discipline immediately after the bad behavior or your cat will not know why you are doing it and will repeat the bad behavior.
Honestly, I would try not to worry about it too much. I believe that most of the food got pulled and that the companies are keeping a close eye on it. I usually feed my kitties the cheapest food dry in the daytime and Fancy Feast in the evening. I don't think that either brands were recalled. For dogs...I have no clue. You'll have to check with the store department heads for finding safe brands.
Why I kept my Homer cat. « Result #5 on Jun 22, 2007, 2:50pm »
So I'm in the shower and staring up at me is my tiger cat draped over the toilet seat with one leg grazing the inside of bowl. He reminds me of a strange version of the bengal F1s that I saw on the discovery channel because of his fondness for water. Also because he is a large cat with very exotic markings. His personality is purely spastic and sweet.
In contrast, my siamese (eurydice) would hug you if she had human arms. Very loving, very laidback. Admittedly if I had to throw one in hell's pit, it would NOT be her. This is awful and believe me when I say that I would never harm any animal ever...but when homer decided take up residence at my home, I hated him. The thought was that he would contaminate my dicey with either diseases or simply by an overabundance of spunk. Newspaper ads were placed: Free Kitten to Good Home, blah, blah..
By an act of fate. He was mine, no wanted him. Well, that's not entirely true. This crazy sort of guy called and inquired about him. Didn't asked any of the questions that a normal person would, like, "is it neutered? does it have rabies? is it possessed by the devil"..you know, the usual..Instead he's asking some really weird stuff...like can the cat run fast? Honestly that's the only odd question that I can remember. But that's enough. I started getting mental images of some weirdo aiming at the kitten with a gun or something.
BUT! Just as I was about make up a story as to why I could not give the cat to him. He says that he has a daughter that is terminally ill, he sounded sincere. My heart sank into some low shameful place and I finally told him that I would bring "it" to his house that evening. So I would need his street address. Then he stammered around a bit, tried to get me to meet up at a gas station as a neutral location. I didn't like this idea, but gave in.
So we went for a car ride to some random gas station. There's homer in this cardboard box looking so small and not quite as menacing. At that moment I felt totally shady about the whole deal. Why can't I meet the guy's daughter? What is the harm in bring the cat to his home? I can see it now on news headliner: Man robbed and maimed in his home by girl claiming to have fictitious cat!
Cell phone in tow, I'm furiously dialing the man back to get an actual address. He answers, gives me the info. I must have spent a good half an hour looking for that address. But it didn't exist. I called back and I never got an answer. But looking at those beautiful speckled eyes and hearing those pitiful meows coming from the box...made me realized that I didn't want some lunatic making cat chops out of him. And even though dicey's coolness balances mine. That she's my favorite. Watching homer looking up at me with those kitten eyes makes me love them both the same.
